FAQ
A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a food and nutrition expert with extensive training and specific credentials. RDs are qualified to support patients with various medical conditions. For nutritionists, on the other hand, there are no standard requirements so these professionals may lack the same formal education and experience as an RD.

Our approach at Capital Pediatric Nutrition is to meet families where they are at.
Feeding children can be stressful no matter the circumstances. Our goal is to help make it easier by providing individualized guidance and setting realistic goals. If your child is old enough to participate in the sessions, we offer age-appropriate nutrition education.
We are out-of-network providers and do not accept insurance at this time. After each session, we will provide a superbill that families can submit to their insurance companies and request reimbursement. Please reach out if you have any billing
questions!
NSA: As of January 1, 2022, healthcare providers are required to provide estimates for the costs of your care. The Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs and treatment. This will be provided upon request. This Good Faith Estimate does not include unexpected costs that could arise during treatment.
Appointments are all virtual. Depending on the provider, we offer sessions during the daytime, evening, and weekends. Appointments typically last about 1 hour. Prior to the initial session, we will request your child’s growth charts and medical records and send you a 3-day food record to complete. During the appointment, we will review your child’s medical history, growth history, and typical eating patterns. Next, we will work together to develop an individualized nutrition plan. Follow-up appointments are scheduled at the end of the sessions based on your child’s specific nutrition needs.
Please feel free to reach out through our website, email, or by phone to explain your
nutrition concerns and inquire about setting up an appointment for your child. From
there, we will send you a link to our calendar to set up the initial appointment.
